SMUDGING: the practice of burning medicinal plants to cleanse ourselves, our spaces and render a deeper connection to our spirit and true intentions.
SAGE: a sacred plant known to purify, generate wisdom and clarity, and promote healing. smudging with sage helps clear a person, place, object or space of negative energies.
PALO SANTO: known as "holy wood" from a sacred tree known to attract positive energy and create peaceful spaces. smudging with Palo Santo clears negative energy, restores tranquility and calms emotions.
SELENITE: a high vibration stone known to raise the energy of the environment and promote mental clarity. selenite also clears and charges other crystals.
CRYSTALS: stones that promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing by positively interacting with your body's energy field, or chakra.
WHAT TO DO: set your intention. light the sage or Palo Santo at one end. let the flame burn for 20 seconds, and gently blow it out so there are orange embers and a steady smoke. hold over a heat-resistant container to catch falling ashes. begin at the entrance first, and walk your way through your space clockwise. make sure to open cabinets, closets and spend extra time in areas where negative energy accumulates: windows, mirrors and corners. as you walk through your space ask the negative energy to leave, and express gratitude for the positive energy entering. when you return to the entrance, reaffirm your intentions. open the doors/windows to release the negative energy. make sure to extinguish the sage/Palo Santo properly. repeat as often as needed.
